PROJECT DETAILS

Challenge:

When a website is built for an entertainer, it’d better be entertaining. With myriad options possible for an interactive site, the idea is to pack in plenty of features without creating a disjointed overall feel.

Goal:

Television and music star Matthew Morrison was set to release his debut album, and his website is a critical point of engagement with fans. The vision was a dynamic hub for information powered by the latest social technologies.

Solution:

The official Matthew Morrison website includes all the pertinent content such as a news feed, events calendar, video and music sections, and streaming audio.

What sets it apart is the social integration, particularly via Badgeville. Visitors can post to their Twitter pages and Facebook walls directly from the site. As their activity accumulates, they earn badges that they can immediately post to Facebook. The social badging widget on the site showcases top fans, friends and milestones to encourage further interaction.

Result:

The website is a paradigm of integration with different platforms. Social sign-on via Janrain, Badgeville for loyalty and fan engagement, Echo for data integration. On the back end, the site is integrated with Microgroove to give the client CMS control for uploading fresh content.

When a visitor comes across virtually anything on the site — event, news item, song, video — all it takes is a click to share on Facebook or Twitter. This makes for a seamless user experience, establishes the site as a center for interaction, and extends its reach across mainstream social networks.
