CHALLENGE:
A brand synonymous with elegance needed its website to match the reputation. Ketel One Vodka wasn’t looking for something overly complex, but a sleek and memorable presentation across all platforms.

 

GOAL:
HYFN set out to rebuild the Ketel One website into a rich multimedia experience that would capture a wealth of information in a visually stunning fashion. The new site would be optimized for consistent performance on desktop and tablet devices.

 

SOLUTION:
First-time visitors are greeted by a breathtaking animation with swirling views of a Ketel One bottle that transitions into the centerpiece of the home page. Users can click and drag a three-dimensional view of the bottle, and hovering over icons will pop classic Ketel One phrases.

 

As for the abundant product information, it was all included without overwhelming the user or losing the site’s clean, sophisticated feel. The three types of Ketel One Vodka are explained in slideshows next to a splashing bottle animation.

 

A convenient recipe finder employs simple but crowd-pleasing effects. The company’s historical information is organized in a nifty draggable timeline, and a video gallery features the renowned Gentlemen, This is Vodka commercials.

 

RESULT:
The optimization efforts reduced the website’s loading time by 70 percent, preserving the smooth user experience that the client had targeted. The less time required for browsing, the more opportunity to present the ample brand messaging Ketel One made famous.

 

Just as important as focusing on the audience is increasing the potential audience. To cater to the flourishing mobile world, the site was built mostly in HTML5 and works beautifully on tablet devices.
