CHALLENGE:

Just as important as what’s inside an app is how you deliver it. The content can feature the world’s grandest stage, but what’s the use if it isn’t cross platform?

GOAL:

Anything attached to the Grammys name must be ready to reach a sweeping audience. For the 53rd annual edition of the heralded awards, HYFN aimed to bring luminous content to a vast amount of users through a clean, simple medium.

SOLUTION:

Employing core technology by Chiat Day, the Grammys app was built on Adobe AIR. As a desktop application, it is not dependent on browser and works across platforms: Windows, Mac, Linux.

This means essentially a universal path for users to personally stamp their Grammys experience. The app ties together music and memories by allowing visitors to tag songs and stories to cities on a fully zoomable Google map.

RESULT:

Adobe recognized the Grammys app as a showcase for the capabilities of AIR. The company promoted it internally as well as in its public Twitter feed and blog.

Of course, we’re also talking about the Grammys here. To date over 220,000 people have installed the app, adding up to a strong desktop presence befitting the awards giant.
