Overview
A heavily promoted national contest, "What's Your Headache?" called for users to submit photos and videos showing what life problem gave them a headache. The contest would exist entirely within a Facebook application on Excedrin's page.
Challenge
A $150,000 top prize was sure to draw a flood of user-generated content that would need to be handled carefully on the front and back end. Administering the contest successfully meant navigating the maze of legal requirements in the pharmaceutical industry.
Solution
Working hand-in-hand with agency partners, third parties and lawyers, HYFN built the multi-phase contest with advanced user information validation, a multi-tiered moderation system, and public voting on the entries. Custom analytics also were installed and comprehensive weekly reports provided to the client throughout the campaign.
Result
Despite all the moving parts, the high-profile contest ran without a hitch -- aided by development features such as an automatic email system notifying users of accepted, rejected or pending submissions. Meanwhile, the Excedrin Facebook page garnered thousands of likes each week throughout the entry and voting phases.
